Lylli's Temazcal — built at Thermal Paradise on the same volcanic grounds the Pipil have used for ceremony since pre-Columbian times — opens end of May 2026 and is the only guest-facing Temazcal in El Salvador. The structure is a low earthen dome (cabaña), traditional in form, sealed with adobe and lined with mats. The ceremony is led by a trained facilitator who has worked with Mexican and Guatemalan curanderos to ground the practice in the actual Mesoamerican lineage.
The ceremony is in four rounds (puertas), each progressively warmer. Volcanic stones are heated in a fire outside, brought into the dome on antler tongs, and water with cedar and copal is poured over them. Each round has a focus — gratitude, release, intention, integration. You sweat hard. You drink water between rounds. Most guests describe leaving feeling lighter than they have in years.
Available to all Lylli guests regardless of which property they're staying at: on-property for Thermal Paradise (walk to the dome), or as a planned day-trip for Ocean Paradise guests (Lylli's driver picks you up early, ~2.5 hour drive each way through the volcanic highlands, stop in Apaneca for coffee on the way back). The full Wellness Week package includes three Temazcal ceremonies — opening, mid-week, closing — and is the deepest version of this experience.
